PARKING POLICY FOR THE GRIPS PROGRAM 

For the safety of your child, all parents of the Grips Program (members and want-to-be members, are requested to park on the upper level.  (This concept has been well received; thank you!)

 Please bring your child come in the clubhouse each time;  our tennis pro will take the entire group down to the courts at the same time.   At the end of your child's tennis session, a tennis pro will bring the entire group up to the clubhouse for pick up by their parents.

Parents:  Wow, the GRIPS program at Manker Patten Tennis Club is off to an awesome start!  Classes are all filled up….this is just a fabulous tennis program for children.

• Children love the GRIPS colors and tennis is lots of fun.  However, remember, our role as parents is to provide a supportive environment for them to learn.  And, you have found it at Manker Patten Tennis Club!

• Trust us, your child will find their tennis ability comfort level nicely with the help of our professional tennis staff.  Embrace and accept where they tested….this is a process to learn the “sport of a lifetime”.

Derived from the concept of the belts associated with martial arts proficiency, the program's 11 stages ascend from beginner's white to expert's black. Once your child has taken and passed an online test for a specific level via the programs interactive website, he or she can take the on-court test. If successful at demonstrating the skills attributed to that level, the player

·         receives a certificate of achievement, recognition on the website,

·         the next grip color for their racquet and, most importantly,

·         achieving the next step in their player development. 

Since classes are broken down by grip color, parents can be assured that all students in a specific class will be focusing on the same goal of working to improve the skills necessary to advance to the next grip color.  Your child, who may have just taken part in the free testing at Manker Patten Tennis Club, has established a baseline tennis proficiency,   The GRIPS program is meant to be a gradual process of moving from one level of tennis to the next.

The goal of the Manker Patten professional staff is to continually move players to the next grip color as the session progresses and to see each player advance in developing his or her skills as a tennis player.  And, we at Manker Patten, certainly want your child to enjoy coming to class and our clubhouse.

You, as a parent, can be most helpful by introducing your child to the “sport of a lifetime”.  Therefore, you have done your part by bringing them to the testing and registering them.  Sounds like a win-win for all of you!  Know that you have put your child in the hands of tennis professionals that strive to give your child a premium experience on the courts of Manker Patten.
